I decided to sit down with my lapharp and start to mess around with some stuff, i plucked and bowed it recording the sounds using my macbook mic recording into live, i went from having something very melodic to working more into a deeper graining drone of sorts.
I wanted to generate some stuff before i left for work today so i decided to start messing around real quick and came up with some interesting stuff. Below is a picture my friends daughter painted for me which i felt went well with the sounds.
Below is a small clip taken during the recording process,
for the past three days i have been feeling like crap and getting sicker by the minute it seems, i planned to do alot this weekend but that seemed to be a fail. Tonight i was laying in bed and decided to open up ableton and throw simpler into a midi track and give a go with it. and below is the outcome, some fuzzy drones.
Steel City is a piece of drone music made from various metal objects picked up from two separate trips to abandoned textile mills in South Carolina. The first was the Newry Textile Mill and the second was IPA Southern Textile.
This is a little improv I did today using a kalimba, rocks, and a harmonica. I recorded two little clips: one of the harmonica and one of the kalimba and rocks together. I recorded them using my zoom h4. I then placed them into a generative setup inside Ableton and started to see what could be made.
I went out and bought a nikon d3000 today and im liking it so far, but that aside i made a little sound clip while messing around with a idea for this new release, it is a recording of 2 clips being processed together one being sound from a waterfall and the other taken from a parking lot.
