I woke up this morning to this loud sound from across the room, my first thought was that my heater was broken i then realized that the sound was coming from rain hitting it so i decided to setup my camera to record a little clip of it. It reminds me a little of a video my friend did with a piece of sheet metal and water dripping.

I went to my parents house to pick up some papers and then go by the atm, while there it was a little windy and i could hear a wind chime my mom had by the front door so i decided to pull out my little camera and record the video clip above to bring the sounds back and process.

Yesterday i went over to my parents house to pick up a few things i had left there, while inside i left my camera on my dash facing to the clouds to recording some footage for a little time lapse video. The audio is a generative processed version of the "m i ll to w n"  tracks.

The sample he is mainly using is of me playing with tumblers on a electrical box in the mills furnace room and the other sample is from me spinning a metal wheel on a door (the sounds from that are used more in the second piece).

Here are the two pieces, i have not edited them anyway just uploaded the stems as frank gave them to me after he got done processing, im really happy working with people like this as i get real enjoyment out of doing the recording aspect but its also nice to hear what someone else can do on top of your vision.

Me and my friend wendy decided to go on a little field recording trip out to the newry mill that i went to a few months back i hoped to get alot more recorded this time because last time i focused mainly on footage.

The main room we were recording in was the furnace room i believe, here is some footage of the recording below.

I found a little electrical box that had a series of tumblers that you could spin there was also random metal in there than made little clinks and noises.

All in all this was a really fun trip, it was nice to have someone with me this time around exploring the sound of the place, this is a space i play to return to time and time again, there is so much to explore and so many possibilities.

I remember back when i was growing up, finding this for the first time, i believe it was around the time i was in the third grade or so i was rummaging around in one of my moms supply cabinets in her art room and i found it tucked away in a box in the back it was around that time i first started really getting into recording and listening back to sound, at that time i never really thought much of it, it was just something i found interesting and calmed me down. If only i knew what this would turn into.

While going through boxes moving the last few bits into my new place i came across it, there are some old tapes none of which have anything on them yet but i am hoping to find something from when i was a kid. I think i will take this out and do some recording soon for old times sake.

While i was outside changing my lp tank on my forklift last night i started listening to the clicking sound that the safety light on the back of the lift makes as it flashes so i got out my h4 and recorded it.
