While i was out recording in the woods i could hear someone pull out where i had parked so after a little bit and having my recorder die i decided to go back to my car, i was going to put my batteries from my camcorder into my h4 but i figured i would just keep them in my cam because chances were good someone was still at my car.

Heres are two videos i took, the first one is me walking to my car and the second is of me walking up as the guy is on the phone with the police.

After talking with the guy, the church i parked my car in has been broken into several times recently, so i do kinda understand him wondering where i was and why my car was there.

But yea all that aside,

I was driving home and as i was about to take my last turn onto my street i seen this abandoned house from the road so i decided to go around to a church around the corner and walk into the woods.

Below is a little clip of me walking to the house,

I started to take a little recording of the area, you could hear a wide range of things from cars to birds and other natural ambience, only problem was my batteries were not fully charged and started to die so i only took about a 30 second recording here.

I wanted to post some pictures of my workspace since it is always changing a good bit and since recently i had just moved into a new place and have more room to work with. I think i will start to document the changes my space goes through over time.

Above is a Yamaha EM-80 Mixer i recently added to my space.

And below are two pictures displaying my main work area, i still have a lot to do since i just moved in here but this will work for now.

I pulled out my kalimba tonight to mess around with and while doing so i found some tones i really liked so i decided to process away. I made a four chain setup in ableton and placed the sounds inside each one, below is a little video taken during the making.

A few days ago i posted a video showing me tapping a metal square rail from behind one of the presses at work and making some tones with it, well tonight i decided to throw a few seconds of it into my setup in ableton and mess with it a bit.

I decided to go and setup my camera outside on my porch after i updated my blog with the last post, i wanted to get a longer recording of the rain falling, you can hear the thunder rolling in the distance but nothing to loud on that end. 

I woke up today to heavy rain and loud thunder, the interesting thing was there were times where the rain just flat out stopped, not slowed down but just stopped. The behavior of storms has always been a huge interest of mine.

Below is a little video i took standing out on my little porch area.

I decided to record a higher quality audio version of the rain, i put the recorder in between my outside doors.

Theres a bunch of different sized railing at my work and in this case a different shape, and they all have there own little tone to them but i have always loved this one the most and cant seem to keep my hands off it when im behind the presses, id like to bring some mallets to work some day and have a go at it.

I may throw some of this sound into live and mess around with it a bit, but ill post that in another blog if i have the chance.
